Broadband VPN

What is a Broadband VPN?

Both ADSL and SDSL broadband connections traditionally provide unsecured public Internet connectivity. With a Broadband VPN, connectivity the Internet is optional. Each line is primarily connected to a secure Private Virtual Network or VPN Cloud, not the Internet.

The Vostron Broadband VPN has been designed to provide a superior, cost-effective replacement for traditional IPSEC/PPTP/SSL VPNs. Because these traditional VPN solutions are designed to work over the public Internet, they are by necessity complex and introduce unnecessary security issues. This complexity is what makes them unreliable and difficult to manage.

A Broadband VPN by contrast is far less complex, simply because the data between sites does not traverse the Internet. Instead traffic is passed directly between sites via the secure Broadband VPN.

Unlike IPSEC, there is no need to configure a full mesh of tunnels between sites . Each site connects to the VPN, which in turn gives that site access to all of the other sites within the cloud. With a Broadband VPN, configuring routers at each site becomes a trivial matter. Because each Broadband VPN customer operates with in their own private VPN Cloud, they are free to use whatever IP addresses they wish over their Broadband lines. This includes IP ranges such as 10.x.x.x and 192.168.x.x etc.

The Vostron Broadband VPN service has been designed to integrate seamlessly with the Vostron IP VPN service to enable secure, cost-effective access to a company-wide private network for home-workers, remove branch offices and executives.
